50 word short story 'Christmas tree'

We were listening to my Christmas CD in daddy's truck, on the way to the big forest. We go there every year to find the perfect present for her. This year we got the biggest one we could take home.
"Do you think she'll like it?"
"She would have loved it Princess."

My commentary on my God's among us article

The style model I used for my 'Gods among us' piece was taken from Empire online. The genre of this article was an online article, we can tell this as it included a headline, strap line and an image. It was wrote for Empire, the world's most famous movie magazine and attracts movie enthusiasts, fans of the celebrities mentioned in articles and adults who understand pop culture references. The article i chose as my style model was written by Simon Braund; his purpose of writing this piece was to entertain, inform people about the life of Paul Newman and to persuade audiences that Paul Newman really is a God among us.

In my interpretation of my style model I included many God and star references; for example 'angelic beauty' and 'unforgettable star'. I used these words and phrases in my article as in Braunds article he used the lexical field of stars in addition to using many God like references referring back to the tile of Gods among us such as 'blazing star' and 'sun king'. He used these lexical word choices as a pun for us to think of him as a movie star and also an unforgettable blazing star in space, someone out of our knowledge like a God. Therefore in my article i used repetition of the word 'star' in my work to persuade my audience that Nina Dobrev is a God among us.

In Braunds online article he included many references to Paul Newman's past life and history of his career; such as the films her starred in, his appearance and facts about his past life. Therefore, in my article I incorporated information about her movie career, like 'starring in many famous TV series and films including: The Vampire diaries...' Additionally, I added information about her award like my style model did, 'collecting her 5th Choice TV actress award'. Throughout my article i added many facts about Nina Dobrev's career while in acting and her awards in her life, ideas used in my style model for Paul Newman. By including these techniques i have made my article more informative and formal.

Moreover, i included many comparisons throughout my text to make it seem that Nina Dobrev was better than all the other actors and actresses. I made many comparisons with older actresses including 'Juliette Lewis and Cheryl Hines', this was to show that her acting skills are to be adored by all ages and that age doesn't matter when it comes to acting. I did this because Braund compared many other younger actors to Newman commenting on their lack of experience, for example 'Clint Eastwood was still a small-screen, small-time cowboy'. He compared Paul Newman to someone that was also well recognized for his acting skills, to show how much better Newman is, even when compared to other famous actors.

Additionally, i have made teen star references to make it more suitable for my target audience to read. I have added many names such as 'Kristen Stuart' and 'Ansel Elgort' to make my audience relate and appreciate Dobrev's acting skills more by comparing her to other well known teen stars.

Lastly, I exaggerated many phrases in my text to persuade my audience that Nina Dobrev deserves to be a  God among us. For instance, 'movie sensation', 'spitting in the face of acting only too be rescued by the untold talent of Nina Dobrev' and 'no match for her undying talent'. By exaggerating the text, I am bragging about how bewildering Dobrev is at acting and persuaded my audience that Nina Dobrev is the #3 God among us.

With 13 awards in four years, is there anything that Nina Dobrev can’t handle? Starring in famous TV series and films including: The Vampire Diaries, Degrassi Goes to Hollywood, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Final Girls, Chloe and her most recent production of Let’s be Cops; Nina Dobrev has certainly put other teen stars to shame. Always providing immeasurable talent against small 'actors and actresses’ who, while she was collecting her 5^TH Choice TV actress award, were just starting their first auditions.  Supposed performers like Ariana Grande and Ansel Elgort are spitting in the face of acting only to be rescued by the untold talent of Nina Dobrev. Making teen audiences weep in disbelief at her angelic beauty and stunning smile, she will be an unforgettable icon for future generations. Showing a depth of acting skills beyond her years, Dobrev has undoubtedly reserved her place among the stars; creating an explosion of talent over Hollywood, she will no doubt go down as one of the best teen actresses ever.

During 2011, Alyssa Giacobbe wrote an article for Teenvouge, named ‘Beautiful creature: Nina Dobrev’; presenting to us her raw talent for acting, unlike simple stars like AnnaSophia Robb. Even at 25 years of age, she already has exceeded old timers such as: Cheryl Hines and Juliette Lewis. Well known for her acting and fun personality, there's no doubt that we will be seeing more of Dobrev in many more TV shows to come. Whilst they rot in the retirement home she will still be a shining star amongst the remains of the small time actors and actresses that are no match for Nina Dobrev.
